As of the first week of January 2015, I officially have 22 weeks left until MY Wedding!!! *covers eyes* It's time to tighten my belt straps and GO IN HARD! So here comes my weekly journal, so you can join me (and support me) on my journey to fit into the wedding dress that I purposely bought a few sizes too small and to do what I joined fourfits to do...

WEEK 1 : Thoughts. Evaluation. Decisions.
During the first week I made a conscious decision not only to up my game in the fitness arena, but to start from the inside out. I had to force my way out of denial and swallow the bitter truth that if I was going to commit to my goal I had to do more than work out, I had to reevaluate my diet. My fiance (the chef in our relationship) was also on the same grind which made the transition much easier as we could work out and plan our meals together.
After the long haul of Christmas, I did not want to shock my body to the point I would pull away, so I started this week mainly doing home workouts using the Nike NTC App. This allowed me to build myself back up in the privacy of my living room.
WEEK 2 : Keeping the Rhythm. Adding a little more spice.
As with all things, once you set the tone it's all about keeping it going, continuing and improving. I continued to carry out my home workouts but this week I spiced it up by adding a class on one day and a game of tennis on another. Now, I am a lover of weight/strength training but I get so super anxious when it comes to running. Weirdly, I have done a few 10K's and even a half, but to this day, even when I am faced with a 5k, I am guaranteed to be up all night just thinking about it. Annoyingly for me, running if done consistently is great cardio and a fab fat burner so I knew at some point I had to man up and get my run on.
And what better way to do it than with the Crew - fourfits is all about joining forces, motivating and supporting each other. So a group of us headed down to the track for an afternoon of 100m sprints and suicides. Training in a group pushes you past your limits, particularly if like me, its outside your comfort zone.
That pretty much draws me to the end of my first two weeks...
Keep checking for my weekl by week #ShreddingFOURtheWedding updates - expressing & exposing my story will become my motivation to keep going.
